One will notice: 1)That adjectives always precede the noun they modify (and with which they don’t have to agree). 2)That nouns following numerals keep their singular form. |
As you can see, a great number of adjectives are obtained by the addition of "-li" (or "-li, -lü, -lu" according to the rule of euphony) to the noun ; these particles are often translated as "with+noun". |
Notice that the adjective can follow the noun, when bearing a suffix inherent to the verb "to be", complying thus with the general rule of the Turkish language requiring all phrases to end with the verb. The particle "-li" (or "-lı,- lü , -lu") is also used to indicate the resident of native of a place (city, country, etc.) |
Adjectives are also obtained by the addition of "-siz" (or "-sız, -süz, -suz") to nouns. These particles give an idea of "want, lack" and are often translated as "without + noun , noun+less, un + noun". |
