There is, in Turkish, another from of the present tense (called general present) which indicates that the action does not necessarily take place in the present time |

The basis of the general present (aorist) tense of verbs is the 3 rd person singular which is obtained by adding "-er, -ar, -ir, -ır, -ür, -ur" (according to the euphony) to the stem (the vowel drops when the stem ends in a vowel). The suffixes of the present tense of "to be" (see 4 th lesson) are used to obtain the other persons.
