Unit 8 - Inventors and Explorers

-Do you know Professor Frink?
-No, I don't know him. Who is he?
-He is a discoverer.
-What did he do?
-He discovered and cured Frink's disease.

I went to Istanbul last week. It was a great city. I went there with my sister. We went by plane. I saw the Bosphorus Strait and the bridges from the plane. We stayed in a hotel. We went sightseeing. I saw the Galata Tower. I also saw the Topkapı Palace and Ayasofya. They are very old and very beautiful. I also visited the science and technology museum. I saw a model catapult. A catapult is a war machine. It throws rocks and other big things to castle walls. It is a very interesting machine. The weather was very nice in İstanbul. It was sunny but not too hot.

-I called you yesterday but you weren't at home. Where were you?
-I was at the Space Museum with my brother.
-Really? How was it? Was it interesting?
-Yes, it was very interesting. We had a good time.
-What did you see there?
-There were spaceship models. There were a lot of machines in those spaceships. We also saw films about those machines and life of astronauts. In another room, there were space clothes for the astronauts.
-Oh, that sounds wonderful. I should go there too.

I woke up at 10:30 last Sunday. I had breakfast. Then I visited my cousins. We played together for a few hours. In the evening, we went to a movie together. We had a great time.

The most important invention is a computer for me because I spend a lot of time on a computer. Computers make our lives easier. They are educational and fun.
